  • The Thanksgiving Song

Lee Haven, Karla Culebro, Ryan Acra

Hardcover (Get It Factory, Nov. 14, 2019)
In 1985, The Thanksgiving Song was born out of the inspiration provided by family. The excitement of the holidays, family coming together, sweet smells coming from the kitchen, weather turning colder, football games, sitting around the fireplace ... and then ... picking up my guitar, turned into a family tradition. It only took about 45 minutes to write The Thanksgiving Song, and the verses just showed up as I sat down to write. The song has been pulled out during Thanksgiving for almost 35 years now. It's been played at school assemblies, churches, and is always requested at family gatherings. From time to time, I run into young adults who remind me that they remember being taught to sing The Thanksgiving Song when they were in elementary school. The Thanksgiving Song is generational now, and our grandchildren like to hear it as much as their parents did when they were children.I hope you enjoy the book and the song and can start your own traditions that include The Thanksgiving Song. ...
